If you sit for hours a day and your hips always feel tight, the issue may not be flexibility — it may be how your body has adapted to being in one position for too long. Long hours at a desk, commuting, or relaxing on the couch can keep the hips in a fixed flexed position. Over time, that repeated position can change how the hip flexors, pelvis , and lower back work together.
